Today we\u2019re sitting down with Tyler Schermerhorn, owner of Pomp + Sway<\/a>. Through the Seattle Restored pop-up program, Tyler is able to realize her vision of creating an inclusive community space that paves the way for a long-term space in Seattle.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Tell us about your business. What inspired your pop-up concept?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Pomp + Sway<\/a> focuses on sustainable, inclusive, and design-forward living. Our concept was inspired by a desire to create a space where people can discover clothing, furniture, and home d\u00e9cor that are both stylish and responsible. The pop-up allows us to share reworked vintage, size-inclusive fashion, and curated home goods in an approachable way\u2014bridging sustainability with everyday luxury. We were inspired to launch this activation because we believe Seattle deserves spaces that celebrate creativity, community, and conscious living, while making high-quality style accessible to all.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Q: Why did you apply for Seattle Restored? how will this opportunity help you reach your goals?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

We applied to Seattle Restored because the program aligns perfectly with our mission to build community around sustainable style and design. Having a space in the heart of the city gives us the opportunity to connect with more people, share our vision for inclusive and responsible fashion, and test new ideas in real time. This opportunity helps us grow our visibility, strengthen relationships with customers, and lay the foundation for a long-term presence in Seattle. It also allows us to host workshops, events, and collaborations that bring our values of creativity and conscious living to life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What’s the most rewarding part of your business? how do you hope to impact the community?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

The most rewarding part of Pomp + Sway<\/a> is seeing people feel at home in their style and environment\u2014whether that\u2019s finding clothing that truly fits and celebrates their body, or discovering a unique piece that makes their space feel more personal. We love helping people express themselves in ways that are sustainable and intentional. Our hope is to impact the community by making fashion and design more inclusive, accessible, and environmentally responsible. We aim to show that style doesn\u2019t have to come at the cost of sustainability, and that creativity can flourish when we invest in reimagining what already exists.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Do you have any events or collaborations coming up?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Yes! Alongside our Seattle Restored activation, we\u2019ll be hosting a series of workshops, pop-ups, and community gatherings at Pacific Place<\/a>. These will include styling classes, DIY rework sessions, and collaborations with local artists and makers to highlight Seattle\u2019s creative spirit. We\u2019re also planning co-branded events that bring together fashion, wellness, and storytelling. Each event is designed to create connection while showcasing how sustainable style can be both fun and accessible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: If you could give one piece of advice to locals, what would it be?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

Get out and explore beyond your usual spots. The best of Seattle shows up in the small shops, hidden markets, and neighborhood events you stumble into on a rainy afternoon. When you spend time in spaces that reflect what you love, whether that\u2019s art, fashion, music, or food, you naturally find your people. This city feels smaller and more connected when you show up, get involved, and let your passions guide you.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What’s your favorite Seattle Restored activation, and why?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

My favorite Seattle Restored pop-up has to be FRIDA<\/a>. They\u2019ve been such an inspiration. In just a few months, they\u2019ve completely reshaped the culture of Pioneer Square and revitalized it as the fashion destination in Seattle. The space feels like more than a shop; it\u2019s a hub for creativity, collaboration, and community. Frida has brought fresh energy and visibility to local artists and small businesses, showing what\u2019s possible when you create with intention and heart. It\u2019s the kind of presence that makes the neighborhood feel alive again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: Where would you take visitors or a group of friends for a fun, relaxed experience in Seattle?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

This is very clich\u00e9, but I absolutely love taking visitors to the Space Needle \u2014 it\u2019s classic for a reason. There\u2019s something about seeing the city from that height that reminds you how special Seattle really is. You can grab a drink upstairs, watch the sunset, and take in the skyline, water, and mountains all at once. It\u2019s the perfect mix of relaxed and awe-inspiring, a reminder of why we all love living here.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Q: What are you looking forward to the most in the coming year?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n

I\u2019m excited to keep growing our community \u2014 connecting with more artists, makers, and customers who share a love for creativity and sustainability. Each year brings new collaborations and ideas, and I\u2019m looking forward to expanding what Pomp + Sway can offer, both in-store and through events. There\u2019s so much creative energy in Seattle right now, and I can\u2019t wait to be part of shaping what comes next.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
