From Duchamp’s Fountain to Dore’s The Burial of Sarah\, all artwork is a reflection of how the artist sees the world around them. It is inspired heavily by the influences of everyday life. The stimuli of life seeps in through our pores and bleeds on to stage\, screen\, and canvas. But what do we do as artists when the world around us isn’t as beautiful as it could- or even should- be. \n\n\n\nArtists wield the only weapon that can combat the brutal realities of everyday life; the imagination. “Revolutionary Imagination” is a concept centered around hope for a better future. When the powers that be are at their most oppressive\, it is easy to feel hopeless. \n\n\n\nIt is easy to see a world plagued by racism\, genocide\, homophobia and xenophobia as “too far gone.” However\, that is counterproductive. The fact is\, those that came before us made it this far because they saw a future that could be in spite of what was. They saw a world redeemed from the horrors that divide us. They carried with them a revolutionary imagination that brought into being a better tomorrow. So the question now is\, what is your favorite tomorrow? What is the world that you envision? What are the possibilities that you may dare to dream of? We cannot fight for a tomorrow we cannot imagine. It is a revolutionary act in and of itself to simply believe tomorrow can be better. As artists\, we’re the only ones who can show the world what a better tomorrow could look like. \n\n\n\nARTISTIC THEMES/REFERENCES● Futurism● Afrofuturism● Utopia● “Before Yesterday We Could Fly: An Afrofuturist Period Room’ at the Met URL:https://seattlerestored.org/event/queer-futurism-opening-reception/ LOCATION:CebreazyPaints\, 611 2nd Ave\, Seattle\, WA\, 98104 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/jpeg:https://seattlerestored.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/08/3B101B1C-7DF0-478B-BDCD-0C60F72CC259.jpeg ORGANIZER;CN="CebreazyPaints":MAILTO:Info@cebreazypaints.com GEO:47.6025555;-122.3329967 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=CebreazyPaints 611 2nd Ave Seattle WA 98104;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=611 2nd Ave:geo:-122.3329967,47.6025555 END:VEVENT BEGIN:VEVENT DTSTART;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20250716T180000 DTEND;TZID=America/Los_Angeles:20250716T200000 DTSTAMP:20260522T191517 CREATED:20250701T184608Z LAST-MODIFIED:20250701T184611Z UID:10000676-1752688800-1752696000@seattlerestored.org SUMMARY:Clothing Swap DESCRIPTION:Bring your pre-loved items and get ready to swap with your neighbors—no cash\, just trade!-All body types welcome!-Support Trans and non-binary bodies looking for fresh clothes.-Pre-Wash your garments—No undergarments. \n\n\n\n\nFree RSVP URL:https://seattlerestored.org/event/clothing-swap/ LOCATION:CebreazyPaints\, 611 2nd Ave\, Seattle\, WA\, 98104 ATTACH;FMTTYPE=image/avif:https://seattlerestored.org/wp-content/uploads/2025/06/Cebreazy-clothing-swap-7-16-25-featured-image.avif ORGANIZER;CN="CebreazyPaints":MAILTO:Info@cebreazypaints.com GEO:47.6025555;-122.3329967 X-APPLE-STRUCTURED-LOCATION;VALUE=URI;X-ADDRESS=CebreazyPaints 611 2nd Ave Seattle WA 98104;X-APPLE-RADIUS=500;X-TITLE=611 2nd Ave:geo:-122.3329967,47.6025555 END:VEVENT END:VCALENDAR
